It's International Women's Day – so today we're celebrating the great women at Inn Style HQ.

International Women's Day is celebrated on 8th March every year. The first National Women's Day was observed in the United States back in 1909 but now, 110 years later, International Women's Day has assumed a new global dimension for women across the globe.

Today's the day that women are recognised for their achievements: without regard to divisions, whether national, ethnic, linguistic, cultural, economic or political.

Today we wanted to shine a light on the women who make Inn Style possible. Here they are!

Lyndsay, Emma, Claire and Carrie.
Lyndsay is one of our superstar Product Advisors. She's the first point of contact if you need a hand with your account, and is always at the end of the phone. She's great at training new customers, has a wicked sense of humour (probably because she's Northern), and – as well as juggling a full time job –  also has a two-year-old son to keep her busy when she heads home. #Superwoman.

Emma co founded Inn Style back in 2013. In all honesty, there's pretty much nothing that she can't do. Connectivity, coding, customer support – you name it, Emma handles it. And that's just at work. She's also an awesome mum-of-two, bakes the best cheese scones you'll ever taste, and always remembers to bring in a cake when it's someone's birthday.

Claire is responsible for finance at Inn Style. She only joined us last year, but it's now impossible to imagine how we coped before she was here. She's the first person to crack a joke on a dreary Monday morning, makes the best cups of tea in the office, and can always be counted on to respond to messages with a great selection of emojis. Like Lyndsay and Emma, she's also a supermum who manages to be everywhere at once.

Carrie heads up the Connectivity Team at Inn Style. She's worked in hospitality for years, which gives her a great understanding of what it's like to run a hotel. As well as managing all our communication with Booking.com and Expedia, she's a true go-getter – so much so, that she's voluntarily learning to code. (As a side note, she can also probably quote 95% of Harry Potter. Impressive).

"I want to be able to pass on what I’ve learnt about coding to someone else. It would be great to show potential female coders who are interested in joining our business that they won’t be in an all-male team, which could be quite intimidating! It’s crazy that women currently only make up 17% of coders and developers in the UK."

Anna and Hannah.
Hannah is the superglue that keeps our business together. She previously ran hotels in France, but we know her as Head of Operations here at Inn Style. As well being organised, awesome, and highly entertaining, she's also the only person I know who can run 5km at 7am before work, and still look fresher than everyone else in the office. How she does it, we'll never know.

Anna takes care of marketing at Inn Style. (We know it's confusing having a Hannah and an Anna. We did try and convince one of them to change their name. So far, no luck). She hops between the London and Suffolk offices, is a whizz with words and, for some reason, finds running half marathons enjoyable.

Tildy is the newest member of the team, joining us at the end of 2018. She's one of the most helpful people you'll ever come across, and also one of the most modest – which is why we want to show off how great she is. She came onboard to help with Sales, but was such a hit with our customers that she's now helping out on Support too. She's also an insane hockey player – which proves you can have a full time job and ace competitive sport at the same time.

We're fortunate to have some truly awesome women here at Inn Style. We’re also lucky to be a tech company with a 50/50 gender split. This offers all kinds of flexibility, and enables each and everyone of us to do the things that makes us tick.

Happy International Women's Day!
