It’s always important to keep track of your finances – no matter how successful you are. Make sure you provide a great guest experience without blowing budgets by evaluating these key areas of your business.

1. Go green
Making a few sustainable changes benefits both the environment and your bottom line. Cut down on food waste and try to use fresh, local and seasonal ingredients as much as possible. Consider using energy-efficient lightbulbs or automatic lighting in hallways too. A few small changes can really have a big impact.
2. Get with the times
Make sure your property management system is doing its job. You want to provide guests with a seamless checkout process, whilst automating as much of your day-to-day admin as possible. This means you and your staff can focus on what matters: spending time with your guests. 3. Be flexible
It can be tricky to strike a balance between over and understaffing, but the general rule is that Friday nights, Saturday nights, bank holidays and school holidays are likely to be the busiest times of the year. If your hotel has a restaurant, you'll probably need a higher number of people on hand between 12pm–2:30pm and 5:30–8:30pm too.
