Information from booking.com
Please find below details of a rollout issue here at Booking.com that affected our global servers today.
Incident start time: 10:45 CET
Problem summary: We noticed our data center servers were having issues which also impacted the front end too, with only a small amount of reservations being made.
To prevent large fax fallbacks, we put all reservations for your connection on hold to help prevent unnecessary fallbacks and additional admin work during this time frame, however you may have been able to still make a “pull” to collect any reservation in the queue if you would have tried.
Properties would have still been able to get fax or email messages advising of reservations that were booked and due to arrive today.
Update at 12:00pm CET -
Reservations were starting to come back though from midday, however we noticed that some of them may not contain the credit card data, however they are visible if the property would log into the extranet using the property hotel id and properties password to the extranet. No email will be sent to the properties they will simply need to log into the bookings tab of the extranet.
Current status: The problem is now resolved, and the “hold” that was placed has been removed at 16:00 CET however, there may be some replication delay errors therefore please do try to retrieve the reservations again. If you do face a “time out error” please try and make the call using the list of hotel Id’s.
