You'll be a good fit if you:

  • Are committed to developing and maintaining a beautifully flexible booking platform that connects thousands of hotels with millions of guests 

  • Have a deep understanding of the architecture of a Ruby on Rails application

  • Can solve complex problems

  • Like to write well-structured, testable code, with a focus on simplicity

  • Are comfortable with both frontend and backend development, or are super keen to learn about it

You should be able to:

  • Maintain and extend existing features, and collaborate with the development team to design and build new ones 

  • Learn from, and share your experience with, a great team of experienced developers, salespeople, support and customer service staff.

  • Familiarise yourself with a pragmatically-chosen tech stack

  • Work closely with users, providing them with support, researching new features, and soliciting feedback

  • Contribute opinions on a range of topics, from development practices to product strategy and roadmap

  • Write, maintain and share detailed systems specification documentation

You should also:

  • Have a desire to learn dev-ops best practices on the AWS infrastructure

  • Have a firm grasp of Git and Github

  • Have a sound knowledge of HTML and CSS, with familiarity of preprocessors such as HAML and SASS

  • Be able to take responsibility for the delivery of a project

  • Be a critical thinker and decision maker when it comes to the best way to approach new problems

  • Have ambition to deliver a high-quality web-based product to millions of customers

  • Be willing to spend half your time in our Ipswich office
